How To Make My Item Get On The First Page Of Ebay Listings
88Making more sales means increasing the visabilty of your products. Put them infront of more people and as a result you will increase the amount of sales you make. If you are currently only get 100 visitors per day then the making 100+ sales can be a hard feat as not every viewer will buy. Over time you will be able to figure out the percentage of viewers that turn into buyers. Lets say that you will make 20% of sales from the amount of views you receive. This works out that you will make around 20 sales per day per 100 viewa. Increase this to 1000 views and you will making 200 sales per day. There are many techniques to reach this amount of views on ebay but were going to look at the most powerful way to receive maximum amount of views to your ebay shop. And that is being on Ebays first page in the listings.
Just like Google, Ebay has an algorythm where by many fundamentals go in to where your listing will be placed when you start your listing. Ebay didnt have this a few years ago, so to be on the first page of this listings back then just meant that your items were finishing soonest. Ebay Now uses "best match" as the defualt results when you tap your item in the search bar. You can change this to nearest first, Ending soonest, Cheapest but many people don't and leave all their searches in the best match catergory. Ebay has also taken away alot of paid options to make your listings more visable as the big sellers with bigger budgets took advantage of this and dominated the first pages, making them more sales and just keeping them at the top making it harder for the smaller buyers to make sales.
We do know a lot of what can make your listings at the to of listings. Some are paid and some are free methods and what Im about show you will massively increase your views by getting on the first page. As you become a better ebay seller and have a bit more money to spend then also intergrate some of the paid options.
- Your Title: This will dramatically push your items to the front page even if you just listed a 30day listings. Ebay looks at your title and keywords to see how relevant it is to the search term that is put in the search bar by potential buyers. This is obviously a free way to push your items to the front page and some cases just by doing this alone can put you on the first page depending on what catergory your seling in. Check out my hub below how to find the best keywords for the item you are selling.
- Featured Ad : Paid option that automatically puts your item at the top of the first page. The premium spot to be in which does come at a premium. £45 to have your item here per listing. Now you would need to do some testing with this to see if is actually worth the outlay and which of your products it works best on. Without going in to this option too much it could work very well with and item that actually earns £1 profit. Yes you will have to make 45 sales just to get the money back for the listing but if you have items that have you earn greater profits then you could use this listing to send people to that listing saying check out my other items. This option is an excellent feature as you will be in the prime spot for 30days straight depending on what catergory you are will effect the sale rate but if you are in a big market you could be taking a huge amount of the views I wouldnt be surprised if you achieve 100+ views per day, resulting in 3000+ views on one listing.
- Top Rated Seller: Becoming a top rated seller gives you perks like appearing higher up in the listings automatically because in Ebays eyes you are a trusted seller and are better for their customers as you are a proven trusted seller. You need to have shop and opt in for the top seller program to be reviewed to become a top rated seller. You have to make over a certain ££££ amount every month for consecutive months and have certain DSR's to become a top rated seller. This is something that will come over time but once you've got it you can see a jump in sales as you will be infront of more viewers across all of your listings.
- Penny Auctions: Now if you are just starting out or a seasoned ebayer then this technique will work for you and is almost a free method to get you on the front page of the ebay listings. Ebay also goes on price in their algorythm. So auctions appear higher up the listings and penny auctions even more so. This is an effective way for any ebayer to increase their traffic by utilising being the first page of the ebay listings. You can use inexpensive items to put up for penny auctions and remember once you've got that viewer in your shop you can then direct them to your more expensive items. This can bring in huge amounts of traffic.
The above hub goes in to detail of the advantages of penny auctions, How to use them and how to find items to use as penny auctions. These will massively increase your sales but will also get you on the first page of ebay. Remember you want your viewers to check out the rest of your shop once you have pulled them in. It doesn't matter whether you make a profit on your auction because the aim with these is to send them to your high profit items once they are in your shop.

Thanks for the information. I'm definitely going to work at getting more views. My sales are down and after reading your article I realize I'm not getting enough people to view my items. I've got to think up better titles.
