How To Massively Increase your Ebay Page Traffic And Get More Sales Each Day
86Traffic is King. Without doubt when it comes to Ebay Traffic Is definitely king. If people don't view your listings you will never make a sale. It doesn't matter if you have a degree in copywriting or your a professional photographer, if you don't get people to initially view your listings, writing a good description and taking great photos will have no use in making a sale.
You need to generate traffic to your listings to make those sales. People are lazy, nobody wants to spend hours and hours searching for a particular item on Ebay or anywhere for that matter. If you stand out, get them to view and then make them feel comfortable and confident in buying from you then they naturally will ( and it might not be what they originally looked for! More about this in a moment. )
Ebay Introduced a new algorithm to their listings quite a while ago. No longer are the listings finishing soonest displayed in the 1st page of Ebay. Rather, specific criteria that Ebay feels most appropriate to what you are looking for, "Best Match". There are obvious ways to reach the first page of Ebay, like becoming a Top Rated Seller. To Become A Top Rated Seller you have to prove your worth to Ebay that you are a professional and trusted seller something that takes time to achieve but once your have you recieve many benefits. Then there's also the Keywords In your Title that can also rank you higher in the page listings without being a snazy Ebay Seller. So you can attract customers with good keywords in your titles but if your in a crowded market this won't be enough.
So how do you generate traffic to your sales?
If you look at ACCStation Ebay Account (The Largest Ebay Seller ) and see how many listings they have ( last time I looked it was 90,000+ listings ) you can see why they make 40,000+ sales per month. Their exposure is massive! You need to look past the fact they offer low cost electrical goods as it is never about the price. You need to focus on how they get to make that many sales and the answer is their exposure/traffic.
Now your probably thinking I don't have 90,000 products to sell!!!
It doesn't matter, what I'm about to show you will give you the opportunity to massively increase your sales by pulling in traffic and then what to do with the traffic.

1p or 1cent auctions are your answer to pull in traffic and net 1000%+ Traffic increase.
Now I would be crazy to tell you to list all of your items with a starting bid of a penny, so I won't. This is where you need to do a little bit of creative thinking to figure out what you could sell for close to a penny if you was to get just 1 bid. The items do not have to be spectacular to pull people in so don't start sweating if you think you need to list a XBOX for a penny ( although this would generate massive traffic and most definitely get a good price at the end of it ). What you need to do is think about something inexpensive that you could tie in with what your already selling so that once you've got the traffic it will be easier to lead them elsewhere within you Shop or listings.
Some examples for you:
Sell in the music niche? well why put a pack of 10 guitar plectrums together and start them at a penny?
Sell Fishing Gear? What about a pack of 10 hooks, or weights or floats and start them at a penny.
These will attract people in to your listings as these will appear very high in Ebay listings if not the first page. These listings should have breif descriptions,, although make sure you state the obvious then the trick here is to invite them to look at your other items for sale! This works better if you have a shop as you'll have shop catergories displayed on the left hand side of your listings descriptions and if you have relevant 1p auctions to what you normally sell they will most definately take a look and more than likely buy from you.
Now if you make 10 auctions per day for 7 days and each auction gets 10 views per day thats 700 views in a week and lets say only 10% buy from you, you have made 70 sales extra sales just buy increasing your traffic that's without the normal traffic you normal listings make!
Obviously the more you do the more traffic you will generate equalling the more sales you will make.
If you are a business seller and have a shop, if you haven't already, sign up to Omniture under Ebay's Marketing in Seller Manager pro, and look at your stats for a week on what you've done already and then apply this technique and compare the difference!
