Napoleon Hill's Think And Grow Rich A Must Read
73If you are reading this then you are already aware of how popular this book is, It is often referred to as the personal development, self help, spiritual book written today. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill is a blessing for all of us that have been given the opportunity of reading this book. I trust you are on the same path as me if you wish to know more about this famous book. When I needed to change things and the path I was on, I knew that you could learn how to be successful and how to obtain anything you really wanted. This brought me to the world of self development. A topic you won't find until you search for it. If you are new to this, because of your personal life needs a serious overhaul then you have just found one of the most important books of your life. As I'm starting to devour books left, right and centre, something that has taken me until my mid twenties to be able to do, I have always come across this book and it's been constantly distracting me from others I've gone to buy, it's age though is what has put me off buying. Think and Grow Rich was written 70 years ago, I wanted stuff that was current, in todays language, that still had relevance but there must be a reason why this book was still in print and being referred to in these newer books I was buying, This book had to be bought. I had read some background on Think and Grow Rich and when I learnt how this book came to be, I knew that it would have within it the vital keys to living a rich life.
My copy of Think and Grow Rich gives a great introduction to Hill and how this book came to be but I'll give a brief intro as to why Napoleon Hill has the authority to write one of the most successful personal development books of the 20th Century. A lot of what you read or hear when you are learning something, is method, every topic on earth is swamped by people who relay methods. If you don't get what I mean then take a look at overweight personal trainers. When I'm learning something, I want my teacher to practise what they preach. Napoleon Hill dedicated 25 years of his life to write this book and needed to follow all the 13 principles to accomplish it. Hill in his twenties met the world's richest man, Andrew Carneige, who made him a proposition that no ordinary man would have been able to accept. Carneige asked young Hill if he would like to study the worlds most successful people and write a book on how they became so, with no pay in doing this might I add. Hill, in little time accepted. Some of those people he met Henry Ford, Edison, . Hill interviewed 500 of the worlds most successfull people over the course of 20 years, the only result to come of this would be how to do just like them.
The Structure of the book
This book is one that you will come back to time and time again and will open at a different points yet still learn something you missed before. Hill has set 13 stepsto achieve riches and although this was written 70 years ago they all still potently precise today. Hill encourages you not to read this start to finsh in one sitting or to rush through as you will miss out. From starting the book I held on to a highlighter because I knew there will sentences that would just jump out at me.
As I said before you can open this book at different chapters and get full benefit from it. The 13 Steps to riches are
- Desire
- Faith
- Auto Suggestion
- Specialized Knowledge
- Imagination
- Organised planning
- Decision
- Persistance
- Power of the master mind
- The Mystery of Sex Transmutation.
- The Subconcious Man
- The Brain
- The Sixth Sense
And Bonus Chapter - Clearing the brain for riches. This is a great chapter that adsresses' why many people never achieve even a small percentage of their capabilities and that is, Fear.
Do not try to second guess what the chapter would be about or what they might reveal, you are better off reading the book. Remember, This book was written from the research of studying the worlds most successful people.

Is It Worth It?
This book will pay for itself many times over if you apply the principles. Just check out the scores of 5 Star customer reviews of this book I love this book, I started to read it of an evening but then had to take it with me to my journey to work because I couldn't get enough. If you have in your mind already what to be Rich would be ( This doesn't have to be in a money sense, your vision of riches could be a having your own family family or having a career in what you would love to do ) then you have a head start. You must know exactly what you want, regardless of your current position, where you are now does not impair you to what you want to achieve. Some of today's most successful people have come from some very hard situations. Sylvester Stalone, J.K Rowling, Bill Bartman, to name a few. Think and Grow Rich will give you the direction to achieve what it is exactly what you want. You can be that person you see.

Have read this book - great words of wisdom!
I have read this book and I dare say this is a classic book on getting rich. Every line is worth its weight in gold. In fact, on a general scale, the book teaches you that nothing is impossible to achieve if you follow its principles and it works-every time.
Thanks for an interesting read. He is an awesome guy. I once downloaded the whole book for FREE on to my laptop but lost it when I had a bug. I think's it's better to get the book. As you noted, it will pay for itself many times over... if we apply the principles.
Cheers.
Great review! I am happy and excited for you; and salute you for sharing your insights and enthusiasm! I didn't read this book until I was much older than you; and I am so grateful I finally opened myself to this remarkable book's wisdom and power. It is marvelous to share it with others. Onward! Linda
Hi JP,
Thanks for your kind response. I re-read Hill's book regularly, too. Are you familiar with, "The Science of Getting Rich," by Wallace D. Wattles? It is also a great book. If you take a look at my hub on Hill's book I'd be interested in your feedback. May you continue to enjoy your fruitful reading! L.
Once again, I wholeheartedly agree. A few years ago I went to a seminar to study with Bob Proctor. What a remarkable man! I became an affiliate of his, and have been studying with him ever since. Marvelous material! I gave him my first set of NapHill cards as a "Thank you" gift. He gave me a hug and said they were beautiful and a wonderful idea. His blessing was a real treat! Cheers, L.
I'm with you there! I really love this stuff, too. And Hubpages is remarkable. Jim Rohn's delightful and powerful wisdom lives on...and I think Chris Widener is following in Rohn's footsteps beautifully. By the way, it was Bob's gracious and rousing response to my NapHill card set that emboldened me to contact the Napoleon Hill Foundation to request copyright permission to market the cards; and then have them printed. And the feedback and stories I've gotten from people who have used them as a daily guide for focus and encouragement is so heartwarming. Keep on, JP, it just gets better and better! Linda
Great hub. Voted up and awesome.
Think and grow rich is one of my top ten favorite self-help books. Have you also read The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Delois Wattles? Another great book.
James Allen's 'As a Man Thinketh' is another great book!
