I Need A Job Now! Here's Some Work You Can Start Today!

Updated on December 10, 2016

If you're trying to find work right now and need to start working today, then here are few Universal jobs that you can start immediately. They may be not be what you're after but they will definitely put money in your pocket. You can also join a recruitment agency. In fact I'd say this is the first thing you should do! Email all of them! Let them do the leg work. Get a resume or CV together, don't worry about it being a masterpiece, this resume is purely to let recruitment companies know what your experience is. They will tweak it if they have an ideal role for you. Some of these specialize in getting people in to work same day or even the next. Joining a recruitment company is a great way to get work quickly. You don't need to be looking online with specialist job advertisers like Fish for Jobs, Total Jobs, Jobsite etc, to try and get work immediately, these will take a little longer but you should still join them today too! By submitting your resume or CV on these sites, you can be picked up by many recruitment companies as well, saving you some leg work. Get searching in your local classifieds, use social media too. Swallow some pride and get out there. Below or some types of work you can walk in to pretty much today.

Uber - Uber Eats - Deliveroo.

These businesses are absolutely booming right now. No one says, call a cab, everyone says book an Uber! These guys completely changed the taxi service, it seemed overnight. You can be an Uber driver quickly as the demand is so high. There have been some stories about the level of pay being quite low and there are some big expenses but providing you have a suitable car, license and insurance. You can become an Uber driver pretty quickly. Deliveroo has manged to bridge the gap for companies in restaurant world who didn't deliver. All you need a bicycle and you can be working for them fast! There is a basic wage and you're self employed so things like your bicycle can be tax deductible. Becoming a bike courier pretty much has no overheads other than the cost to feed your increased appetite. So if you're, reasonably fit and have bicycle you can be zipping around the streets earning some dosh. Being on a bicycle can be miserable when the weather isn't so great ( extra clothing can make riding more difficult ). The next step up is deliver by scooter or moped. In the UK you can obtain a CBT for around £100 and be you'll able to ride a scooter/moped up to 125 ( depending on your age) You can obtain your CBT in one day and there's no test just an instructed observation. Buying a scooter can be relatively cheap and would also be a tax deductible. You earn more if you become a deliveroo courier if you have your own vehicle. I would says these companies are recruiting the quickest at the moment.

Double Glazing Sales: Find any local double glazing company in your area and ask if they have any sales positions, they never have enough sales people and will be more than glad to take you on. A top tip with these companies is to show that you want to make money and lots of it. This may not be your normal approach if your going for a regular job but with a sales job if your there to make lots of money for yourself, you'll in turn be making the company lots of money. Now this is usually done door to door, you don't have to do any selling all you have to do is get the companies sales people in the door, so your job is to get leads. You can be paid £40 per lead and the more you leads you get in a day the more they will pay you per lead. I did this once and someone on our team was getting 15 leads per day!

Telesales / Cold Calling: Similar to the above but many different types of companies use this technique, phone companies, kitchen companies, energy companies, anything really, not the nicest job but you are paid on performance like above. If you made 2 referrals in a day you can be on good money. Learn some sales techniques and you could be making a lot of money. There are many people that start these jobs because they need something straight away so they can pay their bills but end up never leaving due to how much you can earn if you work at it. You can most definitely learn the art of sales nobody is born with it you'll be surprised what some simple techniques can make you get those sales.

Driver Jobs: Due to growing demand of delivery services thanks to the internet and companies like ebay and Amazon. Courier Companies are growing and growing. Yes some of them have permanent driving jobs but these big companies still need people with the own licenses and vehicles, car, van motorbike or even bicycle! To still meet the demand of their paying customers. You get paid per drop with this type of roll which isn't great but its definitely money in your pocket.

School Leaver?

If you have just left school, then you are gold to an employer. Do no take any notice of what people say about how tough it is to get work in this current climate, that's just nonsense. As a school leaver you are attractive to big business as they like to take on young employees and develop them. Approach big companies, think big. How many positions do you think a local estate agents has compared to a large organisation? Get yourself out there.

If you have some swagger and have a little flare which comes with youth and you like selling, go for sales jobs for big companies like Recruitment agencies (Recruitment consultant/ Placement administrator), Large estate agent chains (lettings negotiator), Car Dealerships (car salesman). These companies love young blood, if you do go for interviews with companies like the ones above, you want to tell them you want to make a lot of money and willing to put the graft in to do so. If you make money they make money. This goes against any other interview for an organisation but in a sales, the company is a profit driven company and if you have the hunger to make money you'll be in turn making them money. If you can handle the environment and can give as give as good as you get, you can be making a lot of money at a young age. Avoid retail sales jobs but if you have no luck with the above suggestions, mobile phone shops, electronic goods shops will snap you up, you'll learn the craft of sales too, once you get some experience start applying for better sales jobs. Recruitment consultants can make £30k plus easily. IT recruitment you can make six figures.

If sales isn't your thing, join as many recruitment agencies as you can, if you have achieved decent exam results, present yourself well, a recruitment company will place you in a job in a snap. Get to it!

Being a school leaver is no excuse for being out of work. If you get yourself in to a great company for your very first job it will carry you for the rest of your career. Future employers are impressed by your past employers.

Think Seasonal

Different parts of the year create different demands for jobs. I mentioned driver jobs above because of the demand for delivery services thanks to the internet but the time these jobs are in abundance is Christmas time.

In the summer months holiday destinations need people to pull in the punters, bar staff, club reps, general sellers. Over here in Europe the place to be in the Summer is Ibiza. There's also other destinations that get a huge influx of clubbers which are Magaluf, and Aiya Napa. Ibiza has opening parties that start in May so business need people out there just before then to get them ready for the party season. If you have the money and have the bottle you could work abroad for a whole summer. You don't have to the plunge and going to another country to get a job. Have a think of holiday destinations within your own country, these will also be recruiting at the start of the season.

The top 2 that I have given you may not have a fixed wage each week but the potential is there to make a lot of money. More importantly you can start them same day. You need to be thinking outside the box a little bit too. Imagine if you did really well at it, think what jobs you could go into, recruitment consultant, car dealer, mobile phone sales, estate agent. if you can make sales from walking up to someone door or just by ringing them up think what you could achieve if you had people coming to you to buy something, or looking for work for themselves. Recruitment consultants earn a commission for every person they put in to work by the employer. You can make a 6 figure income if you'r an excellent recruitment consultant. All these jobs love it you have a sales background. So if your young and need work then a sales job might not be great at first but there definitely high paying sales jobs that you could eventually walk into no sweat.

I hope this has helped some people. So get looking for these types of jobs on Gumtree, or your equivalent classified site, learn some sales techniques and you could have respectable wage each week.

Work trends come all year round, so you'll always be able to find something at Christmas Postal Services employ temps to cover the extra work load. You should check your national postal Servie's website For England it would be Royal mail. They employ thousands of people each year on a temp basis just to cover the huge volumes of post. You may only get a few weeks work but you could be asked to stay on and you'll also get access to their internal vacancy list. In the summer you have huge events looking for marshalls and pubs and bars also need extra staff. Holiday resorts always need staff. So there's a few Ideas to et you into work fast. Remember get the job you really want these are just ways to get you earning whilst you look for that better job.
